Prioritizing Preservation: Public Preference and Historic Places

September 26, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

This presentation will relate the
history of the Ustick neighborhood
and explore efforts to preserve the
unique character of the Ustick
Townsite. While sharing similarities
with other Boise neighborhoods, this
community is perceived and
protected differently by the city and
its citizens.

What were the origins of this neighborhood, how did it evolve, and what is its future?
Join Dan Everhart, Outreach Historian at the State Historic Preservation Office to learn
about the intriguing stories that make this neighborhood unique and participate in a
conversation about how the lessons learned by this place can be applied to prioritize
its preservation.
